Children in class 4 had a brilliant afternoon, thinking about resilience and discussing US Open winner Emma Raducanu. Well Done to all of the children who completed the sponsored run to raise funds! A big thank you to parents and families for their support.
🏴⚽️🎶 IT’S COMING HOME, IT’S COMING HOME, IT’S COMING🎶⚽️🏴
To celebrate the Euro 2020 (2021) England vs. Scotland game, children have enjoyed a football fun day. The children in class 4 have completed maths activities on angles and discussed the countries that are competing in the competition. They also made bunting, using the flags, to colour their own flag and took part in a friendly match.
Shelters
Children worked together, with a limited set of resources, to create their own shelter to meet a brief. Team work and communication skills were crucial in order for the children to succeed. They were very proud of their final shelters. Amazing work Class 4!
Class Liturgy
Children in Class 4 participated in a liturgy for the 5th Sunday of Easter. We listened to the scripture and thought about ‘I am’ statements and the ways in which we contribute.
Weaving
Children in Class 4 have enjoyed some great success, with completing weaving using lolly pop sticks. They showed great perseverance in order to learn and apply the new skill and they were very proud of the outcome.
Computing with Sphero Sports.
Children in Class 4 have loved beginning working with the Foundation of Light on a computing unit this half term. Using Sphero bots the children programmed the bots to move and completed challenges including drawing shapes and navigating the Sphero around the floor mat.
Afternoon Tea
Children in Class 4 received an invitation from the children in Class 1 to join them for Afternoon tea. A group of children worked with Mrs. Hall to help prepare the food and drinks. We focussed on being a positive role model for the younger children and demonstrating our cove values of respect, friendship, excellence and care.
Fire 🔥 Fire 🔥
Working alongside Mr Baker from Sc.out.ed, children have worked in groups to gather the necessary materials to build and maintain a fire (safely) for 15 minutes. They worked together to gather tinder, kindling and firewood so that they could keep their fire burning. They showed resilience and all enjoyed success! The session was finished with s’mores- which were delicious.
Sc.out.ed- Message Mysteries…
Children worked cooperatively, developing team-work skills and resilience to use a key and create a hidden message. They then used the key to decipher one another’s messages. The children’s communication skills, perseverance and determination was excellent!
Viking Artwork
Children in Class 4 have been exploring forms of Viking travel. They have looked at Viking longships and sketched them including key features such as the mast, keel, dragon head prow, shields and sail.
