As I receive photos of the children doing various activities and challenges at home I will add them to this section of the Class 4 Blog. I can’t wait to see what they are getting up to.

Week Beginning 23rd March 2020
Class 4 participated in circuit activities today as part of our work around Sport Relief.
The children thoroughly enjoyed working their was around the course and coming up with as many different ways as they could to complete the activities.
To celebrate World Book Day the children brought in their favourite book and decorated a t-shirt to look like the front cover of their book. They then chose key vocabulary linked to their text to finish off their design. We also shared Bible stories and created illustrations as part of a display. Families joined us at the end of the day to share a story with their children.
Class 4 were lucky enough to spend the afternoon working along side author/illustrator Liz Million. She talked about her early career and her journey towards becoming an author. We worked together to create Mayan characters and rainforest animals that we will use to inspire our writing over the next week.
The children in Class 4 invited their families to join them in their Liturgy this week for ‘The Presentation of the Lord’. The children led us in prayer and reflection and sent out their families with their Mission to show kindness to others and not to judge a book by its cover.
Inspired by Britain’s departure from the EU, Class 4 have held a campaign this week for children to vote for a class president to bring change to our classroom. The children have given speeches throughout the week and finished with a debate on topical issues. Children then balloted on who they wanted for class president. The vote ended without a winning majority therefore the two children with the highest number of votes formed a coalition.
A big well done to Grace for being awarded ‘man’ of the match at her game for Easington Colliery Girls Football Team. Go Grace!
Children in class 4 have used charcoal and putty rubbers to produce artwork based on the story ‘The Island’. They focussed on capturing the emotions of the characters and drama of the setting using shadows and highlights.
