What beautiful rainbows Madeleine and Joseph! Such special and important messages 🌈
Such concentration with number work – this is wonderful to see!
Well done for using your phonic knowledge to spell words!
Well done for looking after your plant so well! Lucas has been observing how his plant has changed over time and he understands what plants need to grow and stay healthy.
Joseph has been very active by following PE with Joe Wicks at 9am. This is a great way to keep active each day!
Adding 2 digits together and showing resilience when finding the missing digits. Well done!
Joseph has also been busy reading Bugs In Your Home on Bug Club. He enjoyed the facts about fleas and cockroaches and then paired up the correct fact about each of them. Joseph is amazed that cockroaches can live for a week without their head!
Keep reading everyone!
Growing Plants
Class 2 have been busy planting their own broad bean plants. We have loved watching them grow and identifying the different parts and functions of our plants. We have also identified and compared different plants that are growing in our school garden.

“There’s so many daffodils!” Isla
“There are onions growing here!” Amelia

Mrs Ashton declared the reading area officially open and Class 2 have loved spending time reading their favourite books. Children from Class 4 were so impressed by the new reading area when they came to read some stories with the younger children.

“The seats look so comfortable and cool!” Kian
”I love it! I love reading!” Evie
Reading Assembly
Class 2 led an assembly on the importance of reading. We shared the work we did on World Book Day and the character descriptions we wrote after our morning with Liz Million. We finished with a song about how much we love to read.
Class 2 have had an amazing World Book Day! We shared our favourite books and designed special World Book Day t-shirts featuring our favourite books and characters. At the end of the day, we were joined by our families to share stories together.
Outdoor Learning
Class 2 has had an amazing time taking part in an outdoor learning morning. We worked brilliantly together as a team and individually to create scenes using natural resources. We also took part in drama activities and team games before finishing our morning by toasting marshmallows.
“I loved toasting the marshmallows!” Oliver
“We used teamwork to make our creations.” Ada
Liz Million
Class 2 enjoyed an amazing visit from author and illustrator Liz Million. She talked to us about what it was like to be an author, read us some poems and helped us to draw some nasty pirates and wonderful creatures. Back in class we wrote our own stories about the characters we created.
“ I was really proud of my pirate drawing. He was on a ship that sank really fast and he ended up on an island.” Kian
