Sports Premium
The Department for Education wants all children to have equal access to high-quality PE provision and opportunities to experience and participate in a wide range of sports and physical activities. Schools aim to provide high-quality PE and sport for at least 2 hours a week, complemented by a wide range of extracurricular sport and competitive opportunities.
By providing this, schools can help improve children’s health and wellbeing, personal development as well as academic attainment.
At St. Joseph’s, we use the PE and sport premium funding to support children to meet 60 active minutes and achieve the above aims.
Our sport premium funding is only spent on sport and PE provision in school.
In the coming year, we look forward to:
- ensuring that all children are receiving high quality opportunities to participate and develop their skills in a range of sports and games;
- further developing our after school club provision;
- continuing to develop our outdoor provision, so children engage in active at playtimes;
- plan further opportunities for children to be engaged in wider competitions
You can view or download our Sports Premium allocation and find out how this has been used at our school.
