As a Gold Rights Respecting School we aim to provide a happy, friendly and caring atmosphere in which children feel secure and valued, in a warm, safe Christian environment. Information on RRSA in our school can be found here.
We have a focus group which is made up of children from each year group and Mrs. Readman. This group meets on a regular basis to discuss how the school is focusing on children’s Rights and if there are any action points which need to be adressed. If any issues arise, the group discuss what steps to take next. Our school is split into 4 family groups.
The groups are formed from a mixture of children from each year group ensuring that children from the same family can work together. We meet each week and carry out focused work on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and how we respect these rights.
As part of family groups the children suggested that they would like to see a Rights Respecting page on the website to promote awareness to the wider community
The children decided they wanted a Rights Respecting Mascot to further promote Rights in our school.
