Thank you to Martin Bailey from Animate 2 Educate for coming in to talk to our children about online safety. They listened to the story ‘Chicken Clicking’ and took part in linked activities to reinforce the online safety message.
Big Garden Birdwatch provides us with an opportunity to take notice of the birds in our local environment.
“I can see a blackbird.” Leo
“Look a seagull.” Dollie
The class were shocked to find a crime scene when they came into school.
The children got their magnifying glasses and notepads and looked for clues.

Well done to all children in EYFS and Key Stage 1, on their nativity performances. It can be daunting to stand up in front of an audience to read and sing but I am sure you will agree they did very well.
During Advent we made promises on how we could live more like Jesus, we opened our calendar daily and got our class ready with decorations.
We visited the memorial in the Welfare Park to pay our respects as part of learning in Remembrance week.
Weather provides us with a fantastic opportunity to explore the changes that occur to our environment.

We were so pleased to welcome our families into our class, we got to show them our favourite areas and lots of fun was had by all.
We picked the apples from our garden and worked together to make apple crumble. For some of us it was the first time we tasted it.
We had a fantastic time on our theatre visit. For some children it was the first time they had been on the bus so the journey was so exciting.
We got a shock when not long after we were visited at school by the tiger. He explored our school before having tea with Mrs Hartley in our Home Corner.
As part of our provision we encourage the children to get involved in gardening. Over the year we have planted and looked after plants and vegetables.
This week our potatoes were ready to be harvested.
On Thursday we prepared, cooked and tasted our home grown potatoes.
They were a big hit in class.
We then carried out a survey of which potatoes everyone liked the best.
Butter was the clear winner.
To fill the space in the garden the Little J’s have been busy planting some pumpkin seeds and moving some of our herbs into pots. Some of the Reception children measured the planter to ensure it would be big enough to allow the pumpkins to grow.
Today we celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee, dressed in red, white and blue we managed to get a photograph with the Queen and had a fantastic ‘street party’ style lunch.
“This is the best day ever.” Isla
“I love this dinner.” Phoebe
After our visit to the building site it was great to see how this experience enhanced the play in Class 1.
When playing in the provision the children remembered their hi vis jackets.
They were observed imitating the brick laying process.
They worked together to create houses using books for inspiration.
