Exploring Artefacts
As part of our History topic exploring World War I and World War II, Freya brought in a gas mask which belonged to her grandad for children to look at and discuss.
“It looked very dusty and old.” Cain
“It was very interesting to look back at a piece of history!” Grace
You Have Been Chosen
We listened to a story from Mark’s Gospel about Jesus choosing his apostles. We created a freeze frame to represent the story and thought about how we would feel if we were chosen.
Keeping safe…
Class 1 were excited to see the new safety barriers being fitted. Some of the children were able to explain why these barriers are going to be so important for us.
Special Places
In History, we are learning about what makes places special. We were able to place local landmarks on a timeline.
We Love to Read
Class 2 love to read! We love our weekly visits to Blackhall library.
Learning outdoors with Playology
Class 4 enjoyed a fantastic afternoon outside completing team building challenges and working together to build a den. The children then enjoyed toasting marshmallows in the fire pit before going back to their dens to enjoy the treat.
“It was really fun, wet and muddy. I enjoyed the day!” Nathan
“We had a good time learning different things.” Elizabeth
Greek Pot Sculpting
As part of our topic on Ancient Greece, the children designed a pot influenced by the research carried out on the way pots were used and decorated in Ancient Greece. The children used clay to sculpt their designs before finishing by painting their decoration on the surface.
“It was challenging but fun.” Alfie
“It was good to do something different but it was hard to do. I was pleased with how my pot turned out.” Cain
