This week in Maths we have started our learning about multiplication. We spent this morning investigating how many different arrays we could make for a given number of counters.
Colour Fun Run 2020
Today we had so much fun completing our sponsored Fun Run to help raise some school funds – if smiles and giggles gave us money we’d already have raised lots! Thank you for supporting this event!
Fun Run
Well done to everyone in Class 1 for completing our very first Fun Run.
They ran, walked and skipped 2 laps of our field.
We had so much fun.
Fun Run
Thank you to everyone who raised money for our fun run event today. We did a great job!
Hello Yellow Day
We celebrated Mental Health Day by wearing yellow. We had a fabulous day and really enjoyed learning how to look after ourselves. We particularly enjoyed all of the arts and crafts activities.
We had a lovely visitor in our class. His name is Francis and he is an African land snail. We researched facts about him and created our own book.
We hope that he can visit us again soon.
Urgent News – Free School Meals Vouchers during Half Term
From today (Monday), parents and carers whose children are eligible for means-tested free school meals will be able to apply for one £15 voucher per child on council’s website at www.durham.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals. After filling in a form, they will then be sent a QR code, which can be redeemed at any PayPoint or Post Office and used to buy food and drink supplies. Residents can find their nearest PayPoint at www.paypoint.com/en-gb/consumers/store-locator or Post Office branch at www.postoffice.co.uk/branch-finder.
Anyone who struggles to access the internet or does not have a device that would support the digital code can call the local authority’s County Durham Together community hub on 03000 260 260. Staff will be on hand from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, to help people with the forms or talk through other options.

Slightly scary but fantastic!
As it was the last day of half term and Halloween this year will be different, this gruesome bunch have spent the day completing lots of Halloween themed activities.
I was especially impressed with the acrostic poems the children did using associated words. Below are a small selection.
Haunted mansions
Always alarmed
Looking at you
Looking for you
Only you
Watching you
Eerily quiet
Every
Night
Witches walking around
I am scared
Teasing me
Chasing me
Haunting me.
Howling winds
Asking strange things.
Lack of
Life
Obviously at night
Witching hour
Every night
Extra deaths tonight
Never giving up!
Puppet Show
“Are you ready?” Zirian shouted before he began the puppet show.
The children waited with excitement to see who would appear from behind the curtain.
It was Spoonie.
Spoonie had many adventures watched by the children, he went to school, played with his friends and even had a nap.
Spoonie
As part of Jacob’s homework he created a puppet called Spoonie. He was keen to show it to his friends.
This sparked a lot of interest from the children and they couldn’t wait to create their own version of Spoonie.
