Children in class 4 lit the second candle on their advent wreath today as they took part in a liturgy focussing on Peace during the season of Advent

Science ‘ROCK’ stars!
As our topic on Rocks is coming to an end here are the photos of our investigations into erosion and permeability. We discovered that some rocks are softer than others and so therefore erode faster. Also, that some rocks are more porous and so wouldn’t be suitable for certain purposes as water would pass through it.
First Week of Advent
Children in class 4 lit the first candle on their advent wreath today during our class liturgy, reflecting and thinking about hope in the season of Advent.
2D Relief Lighthouses
Inspired by the Class book ‘Letters From the Lighthouse’, children in Class 4 have created lighthouse art work in 2D relief by curling paper.
Hooray for my Homework Heroes!
This half term’s Homework Menu has proven to be very successful and have allowed my wonderful class to explore our Science, Geography and Art topics in a variety of creative ways.
Below is a small selection of what the children have already produced.
My Homework Heroes have:
Produced an information text about Mary Anning,
Made models of their favourite North Eastern landmark,
Been on a fossil hunt and even made some at home,
Made art using rocks and sea glass,
an recreated the County Flags of our region,
Well Done Class 3!
The Lambton Worm
In our English lesson for the last 2 weeks we have been looking at The Lambton Worm – this way we could cover the Myths and Legends theme in English but also link it in with our Geography topic which is all about the North East.
More photos will follow but for now here are some of the Newspaper Reports about the Worm’s terrible ending!
The children also made a model of the worm using clay. They used the descriptions of the worm found in the famous song and in the text to help them with their models.
S is for singing
