On Tuesday the children initiated their own learning by using balls in the guttering instead of water.
They followed the ball down commenting on the speed and distance it travelled beyond the guttering.
Today we added paper and paint to enhance the experience. This gave the children an opportunity to observe any changes to the speed, distance and movement of the balls when new things were added.
After a while they noticed that the balls weren’t travelling as fast. “It’s because of the paint,” said Charlotte.
The children tried to add water to see if that would help.
It didn’t, Miss Coxon suggested moving the paint to the bottom. The children moved the paint and continued to explore the movements.
