The children made their own version of the story and created a story map.
Their gingerbread men had problems, they couldn’t get over the river. The children set to work making a boat.
Once ready they tested out their boats in the water tray.
The children discovered that the plastic boats were better to get the gingerbread man safely across the water.
Emmie ‘My gingerbread man got a little bit wet because he was sitting on the cardboard box.’
Ben ‘ The cardboard gets soggy and it rips.’
Arthur, ‘My boat floated.’
